CR7 Chapter 3: Discovery of a Prodigy

Thirteen years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo was not wearing the number 7 that would become synonymous with his identity. He was still just a teenager, wearing number 28, on the cusp of realizing his full potential. The CR7 moniker, now known around the world, was a distant dream for the shy Portuguese playmaker. On August 6th, 2003 his life was changed forever when Lisbon, the club team he earned a starting spot with after growing through the youth ranks, played against the football powerhouse Manchester United.

Cristiano created two goals that day as Lisbon beat United 3-1. His performance was so impressive that Manchester players encouraged Sir Alex Ferguson to sign the young talent after the game. The legendary coach didn't need much persuasion, and Ronaldo was signed within a week for a record-breaking £12.24 million.

The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Discovery features a two-tone colorway inspired by the Lisbon colors that Ronaldo left behind on that fateful day. A unique "Seaweed" green is featured on the outside of the upper with a bright Volt instep. The date, 06/08/03, is featured on the back heel to commemorate CR7's discovery. Silver dots and a shining silver CR7 logo are the finishing touches on a standout boot.

2016/17 Nike Third Kits: PSG, Barca, Manchester City

The Barcelona third kit is usually a vibrant affair, and the 2016/17 jersey is no different. The new kit starts in a deeper teal shade at the shoulders and fades into a bright Green Glow towards the hem with contrasting horizontal stripes. The third jersey will be available in The Soccer Shop in adult and youth sizes on November 1st.

The moniker "City of Light" was the inspiration behind the bright white 2016/17 Paris Saint-Germain third jersey, which also features an iridescent club crest and Nike Swoosh. Black stripes down the sides of the jersey and along the back neckline provide the finishing touches to this classy kit. The 2016/17 Paris Saint-Germain third jersey is available in The Soccer Shop in adult and youth sizes.

The 2016/17 Manchester City third jersey is a drastic departure from the norm in a nod to the vibrancy of the city's culture as a hub of music, style and sport. In a similar fashion to the Barcelona third jersey, the City kit starts in a bright orange at the shoulders and fades into a vibrant purple colorway with contrasting horizontal stripes. The Manchester City third jersey is available in The Soccer Shop in youth sizes.

Nike Floodlights Pack

Around this time of year, Nike usually takes design cues from the changing seasons. The Floodlights Pack is no different with deeper hues of blue, purple and green highlighted with pops of bright colors to symbolize the the shortening of days and the lowering of pitch visibility (cue the floodlights!). The Floodlights Pack will be available in The Soccer Shop on October 6th in all Turf and IC versions for the 2016 Indoor season. 

Real Madrid 2016/17 Adidas Third Kit

The 2016/17 Real Madrid Third kit features a striking black colorway with purple accents similar to the colorway used in the 16/17 away jersey. The pattern on the sleeve resembles the victory route that the team takes when they win a trophy, from Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to the fountain of Cibeles. The 2016/17 Third kit is now available in The Soccer Shop in adult and youth sizes.
