Break Expectations: Adidas Manchester United 2015/16 Home Kit

Manchester United will once again wear the 3-stripes. In a landmark deal worth a whopping £750 million, Adidas have signed on to provide the Manchester United kits for the next 10 seasons after taking a hiatus with the team for the past 24 years. The last time a Manchester United player wore an Adidas kit was in the 1991/92 season. This long-standing history with the club provided inspiration for the design of the new kits for a modern age. Adidas designer and long-time Manchester United supporter, Inigo Turner commented on the classic design:

At adidas we have been on a real journey in creating these new kits for Manchester United. This landmark sponsorship is not the first time we have partnered with the Club and it is with these iconic kits of the past that we drew our inspiration from. We have aimed to break expectations by reengineering simple but impactful design features such as the classic v-neck collar and the iconic three-stripe detailing down the arms as our commitment to giving Manchester United a truly ground breaking kit for the 2015/16 season.

The new kits were inspired by the Manchester United kits of the 1980s, with the classic v-neck collar outlined in black and red, and the white 3-stripes running down the sleeves. A subtle striping pattern is featured throughout the chest, and a trident graphic runs across the bottom hem in an ode to a pattern featured on the jersey that Ryan Giggs wore in his debut season in 1990.

The Manchester United 2015/16 Adidas Home kit is available in The Soccer Shop in both adult and youth sizes. A long sleeve version is also available in adult sizes.

"If It's Not Blue, It Will Be" Chelsea 2015/16 Home & Away Kits

"If it's not blue, it will be" is the concept of the new campaign for the long-running collaboration between Adidas and Chelsea FC. The campaign focuses on the players' desire to dominate the world of football around them, a feat that they managed to achieve this past spring when they were crowned Premier League Champions before the season even ended.

The new 2015/16 Home jersey is inspired by the classic Chelsea kits of the 1980s. The lightweight shirt features a two button hidden placket, with white and red striping around the collar and sleeves. A subtle pinstripe woven throughout the front of the jersey is a design detail that has been used in Chelsea jerseys for the past 30 years.

The 2015/16 Away jersey comes in a classic white colorway with blue capping on the sleeves and hem of the jersey, and another red stripe is featured around the sleeves.

A truly unique design detail on both kits is the finger print label sewed onto the side of the jerseys. The finger print represents each individual's identity and symbolizes the connection between players and Chelsea supporters.

The Chelsea 2015/16 Home and Away jerseys are available in The Soccer Shop in both youth and adult sizes. A long sleeve version of the home jersey is also available in adult sizes.

Nike "Lightning Storm" Pack

The "Lightning Storm" Pack takes the highlights of the "Silver Storm" Pack and brings them to the forefront with vibrant monochrome colorways. Nike did a similar swap with the Swoosh colors of the predominately white "Shine Through" Collection, which became the main colors of the Highlight Pack in Spring of 2015. The Tiempo Silo is featured in Green Strike, the Magista Silo in Turquoise Blue, and the Mercurial Silo in Hyper Pink. The Hypervenom Silo gets two colorways, one in Total Orange and one in Green Strike that will be an exclusive colorway to Neymar JR.

The following boots from the Lightning Storm Pack will be available in The Soccer Shop and at eastcoastsoccershop.com: Hypervenom Phinish II and Phelon II both in Total Orange and Green Strike, Tiempo Legend and Genio Leather in Green Strike, Mercurial Victory in Hyper Pink, and Magista Opus and Onda in Turquoise Blue.

Youth sizes will also be available in The Soccer Shop.

The new 2015/16 Manchester City Away kit features a unique moon graphic on the sleeves of the jersey in honor of the celestial-inspired anthem that the club's supporters sing during matches. The lunar print is featured on both sleeves in varying hues of blue. The jersey is predominantly a deep navy with electric blue highlights. The kit was delivered to the Manchester City players while they were abroad in Australia by Nike Football App user Louie Joyce.

The Manchester City 2015/16 Away jersey is available in The Soccer Shop on August 5th in both adult and youth sizes.
